FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines; device for starting engine at below zero temperatures. SUBSTANCE: device has electric heater mounted in plug of oil sump drain hole. Central potential insulated electrode of electric heater is coupled with longitudinal radiator placed in oil and is electrically connected through switch with supply source, for instance, storage battery. radiator is made in form of longitudinal diametrically split ribbed cylindrical rod whose are rigidly coupled through heating elements placed in between. Oil sump is enclosed in thermostatically controlled casing with air clearance. EFFECT: reduced power consumption from supply source, enhanced operation reliability, reduced labour input in mounting and servicing, simplified operation and reduced servicing expenses. 6 dwg
