METHOD OF STANDARDISED TWO-STAGE DIAGNOSTICS OF PRIMARY HYPERALDOSTERONISM IN PATIENTS WITH COMBINED PRESENCE OF ADRENAL GLAND VOLUME FORMATION AND ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2444983 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, endocrinology, cardiology and therapy. Diagnostics of primary hyperaldosteronism in patients with combined presence of adrenal gland volume formation and arterial hypertension is carried out in two stages. At preparatory stage medications are cancelled, tree days before the first stage of diagnostics diet is administered. At the first stage of diagnostics ratio of aldosterone to plasma rennin is calculated, test is considered to be positive, if calculated ratio is higher than 30 in traditional units of measurement. In case if result of the first stage of the test is positive, second stage is carried out after 1-5 days. At the second stage blood is sampled - basal blood sample. After that, after intravenous introduction of NaCl, blood is re-sampled - diagnostic blood sample. In case if cortisol concentration in diagnostic sample is higher than cortisol concentration in basal sample, test is considered to be invalid. Test is considered to be positive, if in diagnostic sample level of aldosterone is higher than 10 ng/dl.

EFFECT: method increases specificity of primary hyperaldosteronism diagnostics in patients with combined presence of adrenal gland volume formation and arterial hypertension.
