FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: value of the test parameters is determined, compared to maximum allowable one, and if test parameter value does not exceed maximum allowable one, engine control is performed in compliance with its value; at that, the test parameter is measured simultaneously in two channels; at that, reference signal is shaped as per the readings of the engine sensors which do not include the sensor of the test parameter; value of each channel of the test parameter sensor is added to the above reference signal, and for the engine control there used is the signal of that channel which is lower as per absolute value; at that, maximum allowable value of error level of each measuring channel is set as well and the obtained absolute signal values are compared to it, and if signal values are smaller than maximum allowable, the engine control is performed by the signal having smaller absolute value; if the signal value of one of the channels is higher than maximum allowable, the engine control is performed in the other channel, and if values of two channels are higher than maximum allowable, the engine control is performed due to the reference signal.

EFFECT: development of the simple method which is reliable in operation and which minimises the time required for change-over of the control from one channel to the other one.
