FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: acoustic signals of the article are excited using an external source. Acoustic signals from the article are received and then converted to electric signals. Spectral characteristics of the electric signals are determined. The obtained spectral characteristics are compared with standard characteristics and properties of the article are determined from matching with the corresponding standard characteristics. The composition and crystal structure of the article are determined when maxima and minima of spectral characteristics of signals from the article match standard characteristics of corresponding metals, alloys and their crystalline state.
EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of controlling properties of analysed materials.
