SUBSTANCE: invention refers to oral care compositions containing 0.1% to 5% of a tocopherol component wherein the tocopherol component contains 50 wt % to 90 wt % of gamma-tocopherol, and a residual part of the tocopherol component is selected from alpha-tocopherol, beta-tocopherol, delta-tocopherol and their mixtures. What is also described is a method for improving or preventing gum inflammation, gingivitis or periodontitis in mammals, a method for relieving or inhibiting oral plaque, as well as a method for decreasing gingival pocket depth.
EFFECT: invention provides improving the oral health.
