FIELD: printing.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention discloses a printing device and method of its operation, as well as a combination of the printing device and consumable material. The method of work of the printing device, which is made with the possibility of placing a consumable material, comprises the stage of reading of identifier from the consumable material. Then the identifier is compared with a list of any previously used identifiers related to empty consumables, and creation of indication of invalidity, if there is a coincidence.
EFFECT: group of inventions ensures the implementation of reliable authentication of consumables, thereby eliminating their illegal use.
