FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to complex molybdenum oxide of formula (VO)0.09V0.18Mo0.82O3·0.54H2O, as well as synthesis method thereof. The complex molybdenum oxide of formula (VO)0.09V0.18Mo0.82O3·0.54H2O can be used as electrode material for selective determination of concentration of vanadium (IV) in solutions containing vanadium (V). The method of producing complex molybdenum oxide of formula (VO)0.09V0.18Mo0.82O3·0.54H2O involves preparation of a solution of molybdenum metal powder in aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution, addition of a sulphate hydrate to the obtained vanadyl solution in molar ratio Mo6+:V4+=1:0.5, followed by hydrothermal treatment of the mixture at temperature 140-170°C for 4-6 days, filtration, washing and drying.
EFFECT: disclosed mixed oxide of formula (VO)0,09V0,18Mo0,82O3·0,54H2O with a hexagonal system in form of micro-rods, having ion-selective properties, can be used as electrode material for selective determination of vanadium (IV) ions in the presence of vanadium (V) ions.
