FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method in which movable transparent base with surface having the temperature of not more than 400°C is used, and mixture of initial substances from gas mixing chamber is supplied. Mixture of initial substances includes zinc-containing compound and one or more oxygen-containing compounds. Zinc-containing compound and compounds which are the oxygen source are mixed in mixing chamber during the time period of less than 500 ms until mixture of initial substances leaves mixing chamber and contacts the substrate surface so that on that surface there formed is zinc oxide coating by means of chemical deposition from vapour phase at atmospheric pressure and deposition velocity at least of 5 mn/s.
EFFECT: obtaining the coating having high radiation transmission coefficient in visible spectrum region, low radiation capacity or sun-protective properties, high electric conductivity or low specific surface resistance of the layer.
