FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: monitoring method consists in fixation of current surges and in measurement of time between them. From the moment of a short-circuit current surge appearance in the beginning of the line connected to one of two sections of buses of a double-transformer substation, time is counted equal to the delay time of actuation of the main switch protection in this line. Simultaneously with the start of this count the delay time is counted for actuation of protection of an input breaker of buses, to which a damaged line is connected, at the same time disconnection of the short circuit current surge is monitored. And if at the end of main switch protection actuation delay time count the short-circuit current surge disconnection does not happen, and upon expiry of bus input switch protection actuation delay time the short-circuit current disconnection happens, the failure of the circular network line main switch disconnection is established.

EFFECT: expansion of functional capabilities by the method of obtaining information on a failure of main switch disconnection in case of a stable short circuit at the adjacent section of the circular network line.
