FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to reduction of drag friction. Proposed method consists in removing sand from rail surface after locomotive when sand presence of rails makes negative factor increasing drag friction. When locomotive last mounted axle passes, residual sand is blown from rail surface by air forced through extra air fee tube. Additionally, pneumatic system sand box nozzle incorporates sand blow-off system integrated with extra air feed line. Both systems, sand feed and said blow-off, are cut in at a time.
EFFECT: reduced drag friction and wear in wheel-rail system, higher safety.
