SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of an article in the form of a transparent substrate with a coating, which can be used as part of a double-glazed window for glazing buildings or vehicles. Coating includes a first dielectric layer; first metal layer; first primer layer; second dielectric layer; second metal layer; second primer layer; third dielectric layer; third metal layer; third primer layer; fourth dielectric layer and protective layer. Second metal layer is a discontinuous metal layer having an effective thickness in range of 5–20 Å, and the second dielectric layer includes a zinc stannate film. Coated article has a neutral aesthetic colour transmission value on the scale CIELAB L*a*b*, including a* more than -4 and b* in the range from -4 to 4 while maintaining the aesthetic colour reflection value on the CIELAB scale L*a*b* a* not less than −10.
EFFECT: achieving the required optical characteristics.
