FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: method includes generation of output current for fission ionisation chamber (FID) and counter current equal in value to direct current, which is generated by main FID electrodes under gamma-radiation of reactor and FID construction materials. At input of measurement device located outside FID auxiliary counter current is generated. Database of erroneous FID output current values is formed; the database contains output current and time dependencies after reactor shutdown. Before reactor restarting time dependency of erroneous output current change is selected considering fluence and time of reactor downtime after shutdown. At moment of reactor restarting additional counter current is generated at output of measurement device; then counter current is summed up with FID output current and resultant signal is registered.

EFFECT: extension of dynamic range for reactor control system, improvement of operational safety, reduction of time after reactor shutdown when restating is impossible due to inadequate operation of control equipment at low load.
