FIELD: physics, atomic power.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for controlling nuclear reactors, which perform conversion of the density of slow neutron flux and gamma flux into output electrical signals in all operating modes of the reactor apparatus. The disclosed apparatus includes a fast neutron source, container for safe storage of the fast neutron source, a channel for moving the fast neutron source between the container and an ionisation chamber, a detachable mechanism for moving the fast neutron source. The conversion coefficient is controlled during the period of killing operation of the reactor, wherein the fast neutron source is mounted near the ionisation chamber, by comparing the value of the signal from the fast neutron source with rated values obtained when manufacturing an ionisation chamber suspension from the same fast neutron source. During the operation period of the nuclear reactor, the fast neutron source is located in the container for safe storage of the ionisation chamber suspension. The invention provides a version of the apparatus, wherein one fast neutron source and one mechanism for movement thereof are used to control multiple ionisation chamber suspensions.
EFFECT: controlling stability of the coefficient of converting slow neutron flux density into electrical signals with prolonged (more than 30 years) operation owing to the introduction of an ionisation chamber suspension into the structure, as well as enabling monitoring of the integrity of circuits and stability of operation of the nuclear reactor control and protection system, which considerably improves reliability of the reactor.
