SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of nuclear technology. The signal of an ionisation fission chamber is amplified, obtaining a bipolar pulse with zero mean value at the output of the shaping amplifier. The output signal of the shaping amplifier undergoes fast analogue-to-digital conversion, followed by performing digital processing including performing amplitude selection by a linear discriminator, calculating the mean or total value of the positive polarity signal at set time intervals, taking a logarithm, linearising, taking an antilogarithm, and scaling in order to calculate the neutron flux density. The linear amplitude selection has the function of delaying the setting of the discrimination threshold after the end of the positive half-wave of the bidirectional pulse. The polynomial linearisation is performed in a limited area of transition from a pulse mode of operation to a solely fluctuating one.

EFFECT: increase in the speed and accuracy of determining the neutron flux density in a thermonuclear reactor in the presence of electromagnetic interference and gamma radiation.
