FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed metal cutting unit comprises driven cutting tool. Said drive comprises casing and chip collector. Chip collector has through hole where drive enters by its separated parts. Drive casing has its separated parts coming in sliding contact with chip collector in the area of said through hole. Said drive displaces along its rotational axis relative to chip collector. Proposed unit comprises drive allows varying its position and that of machining tool relative to chip collector. Chip collector has chip removal flute extending parallel with drive rotational axis. One or several chip removal flutes surround said through hole in some sections. Aforesaid drive comprises synchronous motor operated, preferably, without rotor position pickups. Sensing guide is arranged on chip collector. Besides, unit comprises two rollers to fit machined parts in sliding or rolling. Proposed machine tool comprises machining unit and parts transfer unit. Machining unit is coupled with transfer unit via sensing guides.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
