FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to N-hydroxysulphonamide derivatives of formula where: R1 denotes H; R2 denotes H; R3, R4, R5, R6 and R7 are independently selected from a group consisting of H, halogen, perfluoromethyl and alkylsulphonyl, which release nitroxyl (HNO) under physiological conditions and are useful in treating and/or preventing the onset and/or development of diseases and conditions which are responsive to nitroxyl therapy, including heart failure.
EFFECT: novel N-hydroxysulphonamide derivatives release NHO at a controlled rate under physiological conditions, and the rate of release of HNO changed by varying the nature and position of functional groups in N-hydroxysulphonamide derivatives.
