FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: oxide fuel pellets or briquettes are supplied to surface of slag bed; oxygen-containing blast air is supplied above the bed. Heating, recovery and melting of oxide fuel pellets or briquettes is performed. Metal, slag and flue gases are removed. At that, to slag bed there continuously supplied is additional oxygen-containing blast air 0.2-1.5 metre below its surface with intensity of 200-1000 m3 per hour per 1 m2 of horizontal section of the bed.
EFFECT: improving the process efficiency.
