FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: described is management of intersystem mobility in standby mode for independent mobile communication networks. For example, registration of multiple mobile IP addresses (MIP) in a mobile device can be used to facilitate intersystem tracking of the device. An Internet protocol (IP) home agent, which serves the mobile device, can associate the MIP address with the home IP address of the mobile device. When communication is received for the home address, device paging can be initiated by using at least the multiple MIP associated with the home address. The mobile device response can provide the current active network address, and the received communication can be delivered through such an active network address. As disclosed in this claim, a mobile device can change connection to networks without exchanging signals with such networks, based on multiple associations.
EFFECT: mobile device in standby mode can significantly reduce power consumption.
