FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: after an emergency call (N) has been received at an emergency call centre (NZ), the position (POS1) of the communication terminal (KE1) is determined by querying a database (DB); an area around the position (POS1) of the communication terminal (KE1) is defined as danger area (GB) and other communication terminals (KE) located in the danger area (GB) are identified; communication terminals (KE) of rescue workers in the danger area (GB) who are to be informed are then selected; emergency information (NI) is generated, and then communicated to each of the selected communication terminals (KE) of potentially imperilled persons and/or rescue workers.
EFFECT: improved handling of emergency calls from a communication terminal.
