FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely ophthalmology and is applicable for diagnosing corneal desensitisation, including with underlying different stages of primary glaucoma, and a reduced number of corneal complications with underlying corneal process in an eye. For this purpose, sodium sulphacyl is instilled starting with the concentration of 5% to 20% in increments of 2.5%. Then a conjunctival cavity is washed with normal saline. A patient appraises his sensations according to a five-point system every time. If the sensations occur for the first time after the 7.5% instillation to be maximised to the 12.5% instillation, the corneal sensitivity is considered to be undisturbed.
EFFECT: technique enables detecting early changes of the corneal sensitivity; it is easy to implement, accessible, requires no special equipment.
