FIELD: medicine, pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely dentistry, and may be used for treating and preventing caries. For this purpose, patient's mixed saliva is analysed for a level of secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA) and pro-inflammatory cytokine - interleukin 8 (IL-8) or anti-inflammatory cytokine - interleukin 10 (IL-10). The level of secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA) being less than 1.15 g/l; high interleukin 8 (IL-8) or low interleukin 10 (IL-10) required using pelleted polyoxidonium as a medical product in a complex with conventional methods. The preparation is prescribed sublingually in a single dose 24 mg daily within the therapeutic course for min. 10 days; the courses are repeated on an individual basis for each dental status, but at least three times a year.
EFFECT: invention provides a higher level of local immunity in the oral cavity, improved metabolic processes in solid oral tissues, higher resistance of solid dental tissues, thereby higher effectiveness of treating and preventing caries.
