CLINICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL ASSESSMENT SCALE FOR PREDICTING PULPITIS OF TEMPORARY TEETH AMONG CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B5/00 G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2680592 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used to predict the pulpitis of temporary teeth among children using a clinical and biochemical assessment scale. Anamnesis is collected. Dental examination, laboratory biochemical studies of oral fluid and blood are conducted. Indicators of the overall health of the child are identified – prenatal history, the number of points on the Apgar scale at birth, the type of feeding, the level of resistance of the organism, the somatic history of the child. Indicators of diet and glucose challenge are identified. Indicators of dental status are identified – the value of the CII index, the level of hygiene, cariogenicity of dental plaque. Biochemical indices of the oral fluid are revealed – the level of secretory immunoglobulin sIgA, the value of calcium-phosphorus ratio and alkaline phosphatase. Biochemical blood parameters – the content of ionized calcium and 25(OH)D in the serum are identified. Prognostic indicators are scored. Obtained points are summed up. When the sum is equal to 5–11 points a low degree of risk is predicted. When the sum is equal to 12–20 points – the average degree of risk is predicted. When the sum is equal to 21–29 points – the high degree of risk is predicted. When the amount is above 30 points – a very high degree of risk of pulpitis of temporary teeth among children is predicted.

EFFECT: method makes it easy, affordable, and safe to predict the pulpitis of temporary teeth among children, to monitor the quality and effectiveness of therapeutic and preventive measures by means of using the clinical and biochemical rating scale, and an assessment of the complex of the most significant indicators.
