FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sol-gel technology of producing sorbents based on gels of heavy metal oxyhydrates. The method involves combined deposition of zirconium oxyhydrate and silicic acid from solutions of sodium methacrylate and a zirconium salt in equimolar ratios. Deposition is carried out at pH 8-11 for one hour. The gel is then matured, the precipitate is washed, separated, dried and granulated.
EFFECT: high sorption capacity and selective properties of the sorbent.
