SUBSTANCE: invention relates to updating and repairing ship bulkheads with insufficient wall thickness or that of connection belts. Proposed method consists in predetermination of tolerable thickness of bolt-on element or elements (in the case of double-side reinforcement) depending upon actual thickness of wall to be repaired and that of bolt-on belt of skin plates, fabrication of bolt-on sheet element of definite thickness, laying the latter on element to be reinforced, adjusting and bolting in place along edges and in plane. In compliance with second version, bearing elements are reinforced by bolt-on elements, in their turn, reinforced by stiffness ribs or corrugated elements. In compliance with third version, bearing elements are reinforced on both sides by bolt-on sheet element, on one side, and, on opposite side, by stiffness ribs. In compliance with fourth version, initial bearing element is reinforced by bolt-on elements reinforced by stiffness ribs or corrugated elements, on one side, and by stiffness ribs, on opposite side.

EFFECT: increased load bearing capacity.
