FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of producing optical fibers by drawing. Proposed method comprises drawing optical fiber from billet along first path in contact with area of liquid damping means of hydrodynamic bearing. Then fiber is redirected along second path as fiber is drawn along said area of liquid damping means of hydrodynamic bearing.
EFFECT: simplified design.
