FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of processing plant protein and biochemistry. The method involves defatting crushed material, treatment thereof with 2% aqueous caustic soda solution and lime water to obtain a protein extract, filtration, precipitating protein from the filtrate, washing the obtained protein precipitate with water twice, separating the protein precipitate by filtering, drying and grinding. Deffating the crushed material precedes a step for controlled self-heating of the castor seeds for 2 days at 30°C. Shells are then separated from the seeds and seeds still having shells are crushed and defatted. Immediately after filtering, the alkaline protein extract undergoes further purification by centrifuging. Proteins from the obtained alkaline extract are precipitated with an acid solution. The protein precipitate is washed twice with hot water at temperature 67-73°C and dried via sublimation.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain a non-toxic adhesive compound from castor seed protein, increase output and quality of the end product and reduce labour and energy consumption.
