FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in electronic-hydromechanical automatic control systems (ACS) of turboprop power plants (PP). The substance of the invention consists in the fact that actual angle of screw propeller blades installation is measured, as well as speed of oncoming air flow at the inlet to the screw propeller, the ratio of flow speed to the screw propeller rotation speed multiplied by preset value of screw propeller diameter is calculated, using the calculated ratio, the minimum permissible value of screw propeller blades installation is found, compared to the measured actual value, and reduction of actual angle of screw propeller blades installation is limited below the minimum permissible value.
EFFECT: improved reliability of PP operation and aircraft safety due to screw propeller protection against reverse thrust.
