FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device has at least two light-transmitting substrates and at least one thermochromic layer which reversibly changes transmission of light and thermal flux when its temperature changes in the visible and/or near infrared regions. In one case, the thermochromic layer is made from thermochromic material which is an aqueous liquid with transition metal complexes and halides of alkali and alkali-earth metals. In another version, the thermochromic layer is made from thermochromic material which is a lightfast gel containing substances capable of gelling, including in an aqueous medium, and containing transition metal complexes. In the third version, the thermochromic layer is made from thermochromic material which is an aqueous polymer film made from a vinyl-based water-soluble polymer containing at least one plasticiser and transition metal complexes.
EFFECT: higher thermochromic efficiency.
