FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: light source based on light-emitting diodes (LEDs) has at least one layer (3) of light-emitting material between two electrode layers (2, 4), wherein at least one of said electrode layers (2, 4) is made from material which is at least partially transparent in the region of the wavelength of light emitted by the layer (3) of light-emitting material, at least one of the electrode layers (2, 4) is structured to form electrode segments (5), and each inner electrode segment (5) of the pattern is in electrical contact with at least three neighbouring electrode segments (5) through direct electrical connections (6), which are intended to operate as fuses between electrode segments (5), wherein said direct electrical connections (6) are formed from regions of the structured electrode layer (2, 4) which completely surround the inner electrode segments (5) and thinner than these electrode segments (5).
EFFECT: invention provides design of a large-area LED-based light source, having uniform light density without the risk of failure of large light-emitting areas.
