FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: carbon black is furnace gas black and is characterised by the following STSA values, I2No/STSA ratio and PAH content: STSA: 110-250 m2/g, I2No (mg/g)/STSA (m2/g): 1.20 - 0.70, PAH: 400 ppm or less; or STSA: 80 - 110 m2/g, I2No (mg/g)/STSA (m2/g): 1.15 - 0.70, PAH: 30 ppm or less; or STSA: 65 - 75 m2/g, I2No (mg/g)/STSA (m2/g): 1.10-0.88, PAH: 500 ppm or less, DBP: 115-125 ml/100 g; or STSA: 65 - 80 m2/g, I2No (mg/g)/STSA (m2/g): 0.70 - 0.88, PAH: 500 ppm or less; or STSA: 1 - 35 m2/g, I2No (mg/g)/STSA (m2/g): 1.40 - 0.70, PAH: 50 ppm or less; or STSA: 70 - 90 m2/g, I2No (mg/g)/STSA (m2/g): 1.00 - 1.20, PAH: 50 ppm or less, DBP: 60 - 80 ml/100 g; or STSA: 87 - 95 m2/g, I2No (mg/g)/STSA (m2/g): 0.91 - 1.08, PAH: 100 ppm or less, DBP: 109 - 119 ml/100 g. PAH content is determined based on content of benzo(a)anthracene, benzo(a)pyrene, benzo(e)pyrene, benzo(b)fluoranthene, benzo(k)fluoranthene, chrysene, dibenzo(a, h)anthracene, naphthalene, acenaphthylene, acenaphthene, fluorene, phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthene, pyrene, benzo(g,h,i)perylene, indeno(1,2,3-cd)pyrene, cyclopenta(cd)pyrene, benzo(g,h,i)fluoranthene, perylene, anthracene, coronene.

EFFECT: obtained carbon black has low PAH content and can be used in producing elastomeric and rubber compositions.
