SUBSTANCE: piezoelectric transducer unit for an ultrasonic flow metre has an elongated external housing (501), which defines the inner region and outer space, having an axis (505) aligned in the longitudinal direction, a piezoelectric element connected to the first end of the elongated external housing (501) and at least partially covering said first end, a contact panel (500) connected to the second end of the elongated external housing (501) and at least partially covering said second end and having a first electric contact (514) and a first lead which connects the first electric contact to the piezoelectric element (and passes through the inner region of the elongated external housing). The method of replacing transducers involves combining part of components of the transducers in one unit, disconnecting leads electrically connecting the electronic circuit of the ultrasonic flow metre to the transducer unit, removing the transducer unit as a single module from the transducer housing, fitting the replacing transducer unit as a single module into the transducer housing and reconnecting leads.
EFFECT: simple process of replacing transducers and changing measurement process parameters.
