SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in indication of braking distance on vehicle rear window in case preset and actual magnitude are equal or fall beyond tolerances. In compliance with proposed invention, initial conditions of overload origination at braking start are defined by comparing vehicle current weight and current forces applied to brake pedal with preset values. Braking distance is defined from the expression: where V0 -is initial braking speed of the vehicle; τd is delay in braking system operation; τb is deceleration build-up time; js is settled deceleration. Proposed device comprises contact transducer, slope transducer, computer, n-first, n-second data processing units, OR element, overload direction indicator, overload magnitude indicator, excess overload indicator, first, second and third gates, threshold device, constant signal setter, braking distance definition unit, first and second braking distance indicators. First gate first and second inputs are connected with force transducer and speed transducer outputs, respectively. Force transducer output is connected with threshold device first input, threshold device second input being connected to signal generator output. Threshold device output is connected with second inputs of the second and third output of the computer and first gate output, respectively. Outputs of the second and third gates are connected with the first and second inputs of braking distance definition unit with its first and second outputs connected with first and second braking distance indicators inputs, respectively.
EFFECT: expanded operating performances due to automatic determination of braking distance.
