FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves setting reference overloads, determining the current value and direction of overloading at the moment braking begins by comparing the current weight of the vehicle with given values, as well as by comparing the current pressure force on the brake pedal with given values. The braking distance is also measured and braking distance information is sent to the vehicle behind and to a unit for analysing vehicle approach dynamics. Braking distance of the vehicle ahead is received. Distance to the vehicle ahead is determined. An instruction for increasing distance to the vehicle ahead is given if the distance is insufficient considering possible braking. The device has a contact sensor, a computer, an information processing unit, an overload direction indicator, an overload value indicator and indicator for overshooting the overload level. There is also a unit for determining braking distance, a unit for analysing vehicle approach dynamics, a transmitter, a unit for measuring distance to the vehicle ahead, a receiver and an indicator for warning unsafe distance for approaching the vehicle.
EFFECT: safer operation of a vehicle.
