METHOD OF DETERMINING LOCATION OF VSAT STATION IN SATELLITE NETWORK Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC G01S5/02

Abstract RU 2450284 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: in the method of determining location of a VSAT station in a satellite network, involving measurement of a plurality of values of differential slant ranges to several ephemerides of one or more satellites with known coordinates using a single-channel range-finding and a multi-channel range-differential modems and the common unknown point of intersection of hyperbolic surfaces in space is found; service and technical information circulating in the satellite network is further controlled; time delay values used to ensure operation of the network in conditions for territorial separation of telecommunication devices and taking into account instability of the location of the satellite on a geostationary orbit are determined; range to several ephemerides of one satellite is calculated and coordinates of the moved "pirate" VSAT station is determined as the point of intersection of spherical surfaces in space by solving a system of nonlinear equations using a method for step-by-step reduction of the digit capacity of the system of equations and reducing the number of variables in the equations, leading to form of a solution using a simple iteration method.

EFFECT: method for determining location of a moving pirate VSAT station in a satellite network using one control point, which simplifies determination of the location of the station owing to comprehensive analysis of service and technical information circulating in the satellite network realising a TDMA mode, and which takes into account change in time delay values in the network due to instability of the location of a geostationary earth satellite on an orbit.
