FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: pulse neutron source PNS is placed into a nuclear reactor. Speed of neutron detector count is measured prior to PNS start-up (background). The PNS is started with a recurrence rate of neutron pulses of more than 10 Hz, and total number of neutrons is measured in a nuclear reactor n(t), as speed of neutron detector count x(t). At the number of neutrons in the reactor established in average as permanent, during the time T, Y(t) is measured - a number of neutron detector counts in a reactor with discreteness in time Δt, and speed of neutron detector count x(t) is calculated. Following results of these measurements, the value of the parameter Sv is calculated. The value of experimental error ΔSv is calculated. The required subcriticality is found using a calibration curve Δk=f(Sv).
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase validity of nuclear reactor subcriticality measurement, due to exclusion of methodical error.
