FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: transmission method selects sampling clock frequency, e.g., a first clock frequency (1×F1) or a second clock frequency (k×F1), where k>1. Digital information is processed using the selected sampling clock frequency and a baseband signal is generated. Regardless of the selected sampling clock frequency, the baseband signal can have the same number of subcarrier frequencies. The baseband signal is converted to a radio-frequency signal having data transmission rate which depends on the selected sampling clock frequency and is transmitted. In more detail, the first baseband signal, having a first data transmission rate, is generated in response to the first clock frequency selection. The second baseband signal, having a second data transmission rate which is higher than the first, can be generated in response to the second clock frequency selection.
EFFECT: design of a communication device for operation in accordance with different protocols using the same baseband processing equipment.
