FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of diamond tools, in particular, to production of composite diamond grains with better retention in organic binder. Proposed method consists in that diamond grain is added to metal particles forming solid solution or carbide compound with carbon and heated in nonoxidising atmosphere to temperature that allows forming solid solution or carbide compound in the zone of contact between metal particles and grain. Note here that size of metal particles makes 0.1 to 0.3 of that of diamond grain. Heating is conducted to 800-1100°C.
EFFECT: simplified method.
