FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forestry and may be used in crosscutting clean wood at lower timber landing. Proposed method of crosscutting at slasher plant comprises two ways of sawing out assortments: continuous and cyclic. In crosscutting large-diametre clean wood at lower timber landing, saw discs are pushed on timber ahead of slasher plant. Crosscutting small-diameter clean wood is made by pushing timber by guide grippers on the same saw discs recessed by hydraulic cylinders beyond working surface of slasher plant.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and quality.
