PROCESS CONDITIONS FOR Pt-Re BIMETALLIC WATER GAS SHIFT CATALYSTS, CATALYSTS Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC C01B3/16 B01J23/656

Abstract RU 2450968 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: in the first version, the water gas shift reaction takes place at temperature from 150 to 450°C in the presence of a Pt-Re based catalyst. Feed gas contains up to approximately 20 vol. % CO and steam. The gas space velocity of the feed gas ranges from 4500 to 50000 h-1. Temperature, vol. % CO and gas speed velocity is controlled such that ΔT(50)20h, which denotes temperature difference at 50% conversion of CO, i.e. T(50)exhaust 20h-T(50)fresh, is less than 7.0. In the second version, the water gas shift reaction takes place at temperature higher than 330°C, at gas space velocity of the feed gas from less than 20000 h-1×Pt(g/l)/7.4. In the third version, the water gas shift reaction takes place at temperature 280-320°C, at gas space velocity of the feed gas less than 15000 h-1×Pt(g/l)/7.4. In the fourth version, the water gas shift reaction takes place at temperature 200-250°C, at gas space velocity of the feed gas less than 2500 h-1×Pt(g/l)/7.4. The feed gas contains about 2-6 vol. % CO and steam.

EFFECT: invention provides a stable process of forming hydrogen.
