FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: internal compression engine comprises crankshaft, compression and expansion cylinders 2 and 3, compression and expansion pistons, bypass channels 4 and fluid pressure equaliser 60. Compression piston makes intake and compression strokes per one revolution of crankshaft. Expansion piston makes expansion and discharge strokes per one revolution of crankshaft. Bypass channel 4 communicates said compression and expansion cylinders. Bypass channel 4 communicates said compression and expansion valves 8 and 4. High-pressure cavity is formed between said bypass valve 6, 8. At least, one of said bypass valves is balanced valve. At least, one of said bypass valves opens outward into bypass channel 4, from cylinders 2, 3. Device 60 equalises pressure in bypass channel 4 acting on, at least, one bypass valve 6, 8 in opening and closing directions.
EFFECT: decreased distance between pistons and cylinder head, reduced valve drive force.
