FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves picking up seismic signals emitted by microseismic sources using a group of surface seismic detectors and processing the seismic signals with digital equipment. The digital records of the seismic signals are analysed in a sliding time window. A microseismic event is determined from the analysed results and coordinates of the microseismic source are measured. When analysing digital records of multichannel seismic signals, a certain functional, which includes a spatio-temporal filtering operation to suppress coherent interference, is calculated. The value of the argument of said functional is set, wherein the functional reaches its maximum, from which the measured coordinate value of the microseismic source is determined.
EFFECT: high probability of detecting true microseismic events and higher accuracy of determining coordinates thereof.
