FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves picking up seismic signals emitted by microseismic sources using a group of surface seismic detectors and processing the seismic signals with digital equipment. The digital records of the seismic signals are analysed in a sliding time window. Analysis is carried out in the frequency domain of the picked up signals. When analysing digital records of the seismic signals, a certain functional which mainly takes into account phase information of spectral components of the seismic signals is calculated. The value of the argument of said functional is set, wherein the functional reaches its maximum, from which the measured coordinate value of the microseismic source is determined.
EFFECT: high probability of detecting true microseismic events and higher accuracy of determining coordinates thereof.
