FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes a stage of fragmentation of oxides, an acid etching stage, a strip rinse stage and a drying stage, and general etching control, wherein continuous measuring of etching control parameters is carried out, an etching control stage, continuous strip surface inspection. The etching control comprises a preliminary preparatory stage to be carried out before or at the beginning of etching. During this stage general control detects and sends signals of preliminary adjustment to multiple operating units by means of analytical model, continuous etching control parameter determined during etching as well as continuous strip surface inspection during which in case of underetching alarm signal is determined and sent to the control stage for step reduction of strip motion rate to adjusted rate and in case of detecting a rinse defect step change of rinse water pH is provided until the defect stops being detected.
EFFECT: method for etching a continuously moving hot-rolled steel strip and apparatus for its realisation which enables centralised control of all etching operations is developed.
