FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method of pipe and equipment covering involving preparing a surface to be covered, preparing a suspension of binding polymers and an excipient in the form of hollow microspheres. Said surface is coated with a suspension layer, and the prepared coating is polymerised. As a binding polymer, the suspension contains a polymerising binding material possessing thermal and corrosion resistance in a polymerised state. As an excipent, the suspension contains the hollow monodisperse microspheres of the external diametre of 60-100 mcm and the concentration within 70-85 %. The polymerisation is followed by applying another layer containing the binding polymer and aluminium powder with providing the volume concentration of aluminium powder in another layer within 50-85 %.
EFFECT: maximisation of the thermal isolation properties of the coating without modification of the binding material, the microspheres or the isolated surface, the improved thermal isolation properties of the coating and more effective shielding without deterioration of the coating strength.
