FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: camera forms a background image containing at least part of the field of vision of the camera; image fragments are arranged into a composite background image; the image is received in real time of the current field of vision of the camera; the image of the current field of vision of the camera is placed in real time into the background image formed by the camera; the position of the image in the background image correlated in real time and the position of the image, obtained in real time, in the field of vision of the camera is determined, wherein at the determination step, moving objects, new objects and disappearing objects are detected and selected in the field of vision of the camera, and if a moving or new object appears in the field of vision of the camera during observation, it is added to the background image in real time; the position of the image in the background image is measured in real time based on the change in the current field of vision of the camera. The camera is also fitted with an illumination device for creating an illuminating beam and a protective module for detecting presence of objects lying in close proximity to the illumination device, and switching off the illumination beam.
EFFECT: wider range of technical capabilities of video surveillance systems.
