FIELD: optoelectronic devices for defense technology and forces of law and order.

SUBSTANCE: proposed apparatus distinguished by improved search characteristics such as angular dimensions of space being sounded in daytime and at night has laser radiator, image intensifier with receiving lens, means for viewing image on image intensifier screen, and pulsed laser radiation modulator operating at 0.2 - 25 Hz frequency. Operator views flicker of detected device image on fixed background which makes it possible to reduce threshold signal-to-background ratio of receiving channel influencing detection range. In particular cases apparatus may be equipped with interference filter, power regulator, and range meter; image intensifier gate is capable of gating with respect to range.

EFFECT: enlarged detection range and improved search characteristics.
