FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: mark for controlling articles, having a drawing and a fastener, has a piezoelectric plate with linings and a coil, a chip connected between the linings and ends of the coil, whose integrated resistor, limiter, rectifier, signalling device and resistor bridge are connected in series, and both inputs of the signalling device, through arms of the resistor bridge, and the output of the signalling device are connected to the input of the limiter, and a housing, which form an article sensor form of an assembly. The method of controlling articles, involving exposing an article to an electromagnetic field, measuring parameters of the field and determining articles made from metal based thereon. Before exposure, an article is denoted by its article mark, for example, a packet with a drawing, a fastener and an article sensor is attached to an article shown on the drawing on the packet. By attaching the packet, the code of the article mark is recorded based on parameters, and the denoted article is recognised from its copy. A metal detector having, in an arch with visual and audio indication, a first pair of loops connected to a generator through arms of the first bridge is fitted with a second pair of loops connected to the generator through arms of a second bridge, whose axis in the arch cross the axis of the first pair at an angle, for example 90 degrees, and a device for recording codes of the article marks connected between bridge arms, the generator and the indicator.

EFFECT: automatic control of the number, purpose and other parameters of articles.
