FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: magnetohydrodynamic generator includes magnetic system, radiation source, channel with electrodes intended for passage of flow of heated working gas containing the main gas and additive. Inlet element of radiation from radiation source to channel is installed in channel outlet section. Inlet element is made from heat-resistant material. Radiation wave length of radiation source corresponds to wave length determined with excitation energy of additive atoms present in magnetic field, or wave length of radiation source is not more than wave length determined with ionisation energy of excited atoms of working gas additive, which are present in magnetic field. Radiation source is located opposite radiation inlet element.

EFFECT: increasing efficiency, simplifying the design and enlarging functional capabilities.
