According to the second version, the heat source for a magnetohydrodynamic generator contains a chamber of a heat-insulating material with input and output holes; inside the chamber, at a distance from its inner surface, solid nuclear fuel that is designed to be gas-permeable; in the hollow between the chamber and the solid nuclear fuel (at a distance from them) a gas-permeable neutron moderator is placed.
EFFECT: simplified design and enhanced efficiency of the magnetohydrodynamic generator heat source.
