FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to systems for gas-discharge-catalytic, gas-discharge, plasma, barrier and other types of electric treatment of gases and air, and is designed for use in residential and industrial premises. A gas-discharge unit of a gas treatment plant comprises gas-discharge pairs of electrodes. One of electrodes of a gas-discharge pair is arranged as double-sided in the form of a plate made of glass or ceramics, inside of which there is a conductor and at least one current conductor to connect a conductor with an external source of current, at the same time the ratio of plate width and length dimensions is in the range from 1:1 to 1:5; the plate field free of the conductor and the current conductor along its perimetre has width from the edge of the plate to the conductor making from 0.02 to 0.08 of the width of the plate itself, and the width of the plate field, where the current conductor is installed, has a widening relative to the remaining field of the plate arranged in the form of a polygonal or a curvilinear ledge.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase efficiency of operation of a gas-discharge unit by increasing quality and reliability of operation of a gas-discharge pair.
